Description

Millefiori Honey: what is it?

  • From plants with a prevalence of pollen associated with Dandelion, Marasca, Robinia (Acacia) and Bramble, a fluid honey with a delicate and light taste is born.

  • Dandelion, which gives a pungent and characteristic taste, is well mitigated by the other notes present within the honey. Marasca pollens give a bitter contribution reminiscent of almonds.

  • Acacia, on the other hand, gives a discreet taste, with a delicate acidulous tip.

  • The Bramble gives a dark note that pleasantly refers to the ripening of the fruit.

  • Our Karst honey, whole virgin and certified organic, is treated raw rather than pasteurized. In this way it retains all its precious natural nutrients.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Whole Honey mean?

It is a product that has not undergone pasteurization treatments which often destroy the beneficial substances of honey. It is a totally natural honey that is placed in jars exactly as bees have stored it in honeycombs. Whole honey in a jar usually has a crystallized layer on the surface, but this is a normal phenomenon because over time the sugars tend to crystallize . So you have to be wary of honey which remains liquid after time because it has probably been heated up to 78 ° C through a pasteurization process. The acacia , chestnut honey and the honeydew do not crystallize.

Why choose organic honey?

Choosing organic honey means favoring a product that derives from a breeding that respects the rhythms the life of bees and their well-being; therefore choose the guarantee from a control body that certifies that all the production phases of that honey have been carried out according to the organic method. Therefore, preferring a honey with the Bio brand means preferring a honey produced in harmony with nature, without the use of synthetic chemicals. The entire honey cycle – the management of the breeding, the removal of the supers, the transport, packaging and labeling – is therefore controlled and carried out with techniques aimed at favoring the best product quality

Honey from the Triestine Karst

Our bees live in different uncontaminated areas of the Karst and the Trieste Coast and produce a very high quality honey, with a peculiar taste given by the territory in which it is extracted. The Karst is an arid territory where a strong North-East wind often blows, called the “Bora”. These particular geoclimatic conditions make the plants that inhabit it very rich in active ingredients and essential oils.

Linden Honey

The wild lime trees begin to bloom in the first days of June and give a clear and limpid honey, with a sweet and fruity flavor. Organic Karst Honey, integral virgin and certified organic , is treated raw rather than pasteurized, so as to preserve all its precious natural nutrients.
